Applications for enrolment in the bachelor programme in KlimaEngineering (Climate Engineering) are to be submitted online. Detailed information on the application process is available here: online application .

Prerequisites for admission

Places are allocated in accordance with the university’s internal aptitude assessment procedure. The general prerequisites for admission set out in the Baden-Württemberg University Act are as follows: Applicants must hold a university entrance qualification, a subject-specific university entrance qualification, an entrance qualification for a university of applied science or an equivalent qualification from the country where they completed their secondary education. The selection procedure also recognizes relevant apprenticeships in officially approved professions. A very good apprenticeship grade and/or an outstanding personal statement may enhance a student’s chances of admission. Please refer to our admission requirements for further details.

Pre-study internship

Applicants are only entitled to enrol in the KlimaEngineering (Climate Engineering) programme if they are able to provide evidence of having gained at least two months of practical experience prior to the start of the programme. This pre-study internship is to be spent either at a firm of planning consultants in a programme-related field or working in a skilled trade. The primary goal of the pre-study internship is for applicants to ensure that they have made the right career choice and possess a sufficient level of motivation and aptitude. They are to work in a relevant field and gain initial knowledge and experience of potential areas of work in the field of energy-efficient construction.
