Short description / Profile of the programme <<

The Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) can be gained in four semesters. Courses in environmental protection have been offered jointly by Stuttgart, Esslingen, Nürtingen and Reutlingen for 20 years. The course prepares for employment in local government and in technical and ecological environmental protection. The Universities’ respective departments cover their core competences. The Master will open opportunities to higher grade entry in the public sector and to a successful, future oriented employment.

Final Thesis <<

Final qualification for the Master course in Environmental protection is the Master thesis in the fourth semester.  Themes are covered as project work in small groups :

  • acquired knowledge is transferred, monitored and extended
  • both independent and team work are encouraged
  • insight is gained into future areas of occupation

In cooperation with towns and local boroughs the following problematic aspects will be investigated: reporting, strategic planning, sustainable development for the condition and quality of water, sewage treatment, air quality, noise levels or the environmental compatibility of traffic planning projects and property development.

In close cooperation with private industrial companies particular environmental management operations will be carried out such as company environmental checks (eco-audits) and compilation of environmental key figures, etc.
