Master International Projekt Management
The Bachelor programme Computer Science teaches a well grounded and extensive insight into the future technology of IT. The subject focuses, apart from the necessary mathematical skills, include the principles of programming, designing complex software systems and knowledge in the application areas of IT. Thanks to the supervised practical study project and Bachelor thesis as a rule carried out in a partner company, an intensive practical contact is achieved even before completion of the degree.
The degree is divided into 4 blocks. The foundation course (1st and 2nd semester) teaches the principles of IT and mathematics and introduces programming with Java. Additionally key qualifications such as foreign languages, scientific working and law are also taught. The foundation course will be completed with the Bachelor pre-examination.
In the first part of the main course (3rd and 4th semester) the crucial subjects for the applications will be taught, this includes modelling and designing software systems, principles of operating systems and databases as well as the principles of business management.
In the 5th semester the students can apply and deepen their knowledge for the first time in the supervised practical study project. Parallel to this, further key qualifications are taught in presentation techniques and human-machine communication.
The second part of the main course (6th and 7th semester) is characterised by the deepening courses with regard to the final paper. The final paper is then as a rule written in a company.
The topic of the final paper will be determined in co-operation between the university and an external project partner. Correspondingly it is also supervised co-operatively by the university and the project partner. Initially the student works on an interdisciplinary project, and afterwards the Bachelor thesis is written.
The international degree Bachelor of Science enables you to enter directly into professional life with a qualified degree. As a future academic you are well prepared for a world of work that is internationally growing together, with this strict, practically oriented degree. Additionally you can gain further qualifications with a post graduate programme at a university in Germany or abroad, e.g. the English Master programme in Software-Technology.
For students of the Bachelor programme in Computer Science there are contacts with partner universities worldwide. The academic international office of the university is available to help you prepare and plan a semester abroad.
The Bachelor programme Computer Science was accredited in 2007 by the renowned accreditation agency ASIIN until 2012.
